Summer Photo Challenge

Happy Summer Solstice, and the first day of summer!  It's the longest day of the year!  Not allot of sun today in S. Florida for the first day of summer, rain, rain and more rain.  raincoats and umberals are needed for today!  but I do love getting out and splashing in the puddles and photographing the raindrops on plants.  It worked out well with the photo challenge this week.  Just in time for Blissfully Domestics fun photo challenge this summer.

It is for all skill levels of photography. You should join in. It is as laid back, no pressure, and fun just like summer is.  This week’s prompt is water. You can check out other submissions and join in at Summer Fun photo challenge

I love doing black and white photos!  I think it showed the raindrops up very well!

Goals/ 4 months until 2012!

This year, one of my biggest goals is to write in a journal every day and be more organized with my thoughts. well........I think I did pretty good this year! lol....I bought this blank book at Staples, decorated it and I haven’t missed a day yet!

In the front of the journal, I listed down some of the goals I have for this upcoming year. that way, every day when I go to journal I will have my resolutions staring me in the face, and I can check to see how I am doing.

Sometimes, our resolutions or goals, I like that better, for the year can be pretty broad. like “be healthy” or “nurture my creativity”. so after I made a pretty nice list of my general goals, I started to break them up into daily, weekly and monthly goals, using my calendar.  So when it comes to nurturing creativity, I have a daily goal to blog, a weekly goal to paint, and a monthly goal to complete a craft project and enter a photography contests.  This approach might not be for everyone, but it has been working for me.  It helps to have it on my list of things to do and I really like checking them off

Share with me, what are some of your resolutions for the rest of the year? and how do you plan on reaching them?....I would love to hear them!

Grey Area Artist reception

Hello Everyone:
What a great show last evening. The recepiton for the artists was so welcoming and I had a joyful night looking at all the talented artists.   Over 200 photographers entered and 37 chosen to display their work. I am so proad and excited to have been one of the chosen!I am so grateful to Barry Seidman for being the judge of the photo contest, and it was a pleasure to meet him and talk photography.

If you can you need to stop by the studio

It is a wonderful collection of photography, wide range of subjects and very moving.

I am so grateful and proud to be part of such a wonderful association of artists that are so generous with possitive comments and to Unique Art Gallery to share their space to make such an event possible.
One of the resident artist David Willison wasted no time putting a great collection of the photos.  Click below and get a look at all the great photos!
